More about Sarah:

Hi! I'm Sarah from Glass Hippo.

I have a personal art studio in Greenock, where I live, work and play.

"Art, Classes in Mindfulness" is a series of events that are hosted in and around the local community. Collaborating with community spaces for accessibility to people living in our beautiful region.

I'm extremely passionate about art and helping people. Especially helping people, help themselves using creative outlets. As a qualified Art Therapist, Holistic Counsellor and Reiki Practitioner, I know a little something about the therapeutic benefits of creative pursuits. I work hard to provide space for people to relax, enjoy and connect with themselves. When you join a class with me, I will entice you to leave your worries at the door and simply be in the moment with yourself and your art. It's magic and remarkably quiet. Which is fabulous for those who love an art class with a lower volume and a gentle pace. Watercolor is such a beautiful medium for relaxation which is why it is so often explored in these classes. However I have been known to host events using different art mediums such as polymer clay, acrylic paint, vision boards, charcoal, pastels etc.

I sometimes refer to these classes as "meditation, without the awkward silences". This is because despite practicing meditation and understanding the many health benefits, I've always struggled with it. Until I began to practice mindfulness through art. This was a game changer for me and my overall wellbeing. I think it will be for you too. So don't be shy, come along and let's fill your cup. When you leave, it will be a gentler, more relaxed version of you.
