The Kapunda Gallery was established in 1989 by an enthusiastic group who worked tirelessly to transform the uppers story of the Thomson Building above the Library and Visitors Information Centre, into a gallery, meeting and workshop area. For some years the Gallery was a Section 199 Committee, but in 1999 as these committees were being phased out by Local government, it became an incorporated association: Kapunda Community Gallery Inc.
In 2014 with the help of Light Regional Council, the gallery moved to larger street-level premises in the historic Hambour Building on the corner of Main and Brown Streets.
“We KCG, are an inclusive Community Gallery embracing diversity and enriching knowledge of the Arts.”
“KCG brings artists, communities and visitors together to express and experience our artistic culture and diversity”.
The management committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting held in February each year. The AGM and Special General Meetings are open to all Friends to attend. Full and Concession Friends are all eligible to vote. The Gallery’s financial year begins on February 1.
