The annual Summer Exhibition at Kapunda Community Gallery opens on December 7 and runs to February 3, 2019.
The exhibition is open to all artists and the subject and media are open. This is always an interesting exhibition with a variety of subjects in oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, graphite, mixed media, 3D and photography. There are over seventy entries in this 2018/2019 Summer Exhibition.
Many of the works are by experienced artists who exhibit regularly in various galleries in South Australia. KCG, in encouraging new talent, offers the opportunity to less experienced artists to show their work, and is supportive to those for whom this would be their first venture into exhibiting.
The exhibition will be officially opened on December 9 by Dan van Holst Pellekaan Member for Stuart and Minister for Energy and Mines, South Australia. Rachel Porter, a well known artist and educator, will judge the works. Best in Exhibition and Peoples Choice are just two of the prizes to be awarded.
Kapunda Community Gallery is located on the corner of Main and Brown Streets, Kapunda. It is open weekdays from 10am to 4pm; weekends and public holidays from 10am to 3.30pm. It is closed Christmas Day. Admission is free.
