This exhibition is to celebrate and reflect the Gallery's new beginnings, following its relocation from the Thomson Building last year. New Beginnings will be formally opened by the Mayor, Mr. Bill O'Brien.
The works entered in the exhibition cover a broad range of media including 3D and collage, and many variations on the theme of New Beginnings. Three prizes will be awarded: Best Oil Painting (this is donated every year by Dulcie Fitzpatrick in memory of her husband, the artist Bruce Fitzpatrick), the Best in Any Other Media, and a People's Choice Prize.
For the first time at Kapunda Community Gallery, the works will be judged by the exhibiting artists. Of course the peer judges will apply the same criteria for judging as required by experienced judges. For the artists it will be an interesting exercise in objective analysis. Apart from the exhibition, other art works are also featured regularly.
