Open Media - Theme “Seasons”

January 29th 2012 to March 4th 2012

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Rainy and Dry, all the seasons bring a vast imagery of colour,  light and mood. Seasons are not just the natural division of the year, but can be periodical occurrences of occupations, festivities or crops. The stages in our lives are likened to seasons, childhood, youth, middle age and old age, and our physical, emotional and mental lives are affected by the seasons. The seasons. drive the influences under which cultures, industries and economies thrive or suffer.

The works in the exhibition reflect the natural environment, interiors and the mystical. There is a diversity of styles and media and the interplay of serenity, tension and humour make it an interesting exhibition. Local and regional artists are represented in this quite large exhibition of mainly paintings and photographs.

“Seasons”  was opened by Linda Smith, a business woman and resident of Kapunda.
